
The Law Office of Matthew A. Doss was founded in Markle, Indiana in March 2009. Matthew brings with him a strong background in real property, commercial contract, business, bankruptcy and criminal law. He has extensive experience in Indiana and US courts.
Prior to starting the firm, Matthew had worked as an UAW Legal Services staff attorney for the Fort Wayne and Marion offices for over five years. He also has prior experience in private practice with Raskosky Law Office (Fort Wayne) and Galanopolous and Galgan Law Offices (Suburban Chicago).
Matthew received his Juris Doctorate from Northern Illinois University - College of Law, graduating in 2001. During law school, Matthew participated in a Domestic Abuse Clinic practicum, representing domestic abuse victims in their legal affairs in the suburban Chicagoland area, while working as the Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs and Public Relations for his law school. Matthew was awarded the Alumni Council award and Faculty Award for excellence in trial advocacy. He served as an Associate Justice for the Moot Court Society, a representative for the Student Bar Association, and President of the Christian Legal Society. He was a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honors Fraternity. In November 2009, Matthew taught Business Environment, a MBA course at Franklin University. Since May 2010 Matthew has served as an Administrative Law Judge with the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.
Matthew is also a proud alumni of Indiana University - Bloomington, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Public Administration with a c0ncentration in Environmental Science and Management. He was a member of the 1993 NCAA-Division I National Champion Bicycle Racing team.
Matthew remains an active athlete. He is a member of the Fort Wayne Rugby Football Club, where he serves as a player and its president. While the club plays primarily in the Midwest, he has enjoyed opportunity to play rugby nationally and internationally, in South Africa, New Zealand and Canada. He was recently selected to represent the Michigan Rugby Union in the Midwest Select Side Tournament in Chicago, Illinois. The Michigan Select Side team was victorious, defeating the Minnesota, Ohio and Chicago Area Select Side teams.
Matthew is an infantry veteran of the 1st Calvary Division. He attends the Markle Church of Christ and has been involved with many civic organizations and boards, including: American Cancer Society, Domestic Violence Civil Justice Alliance, Human Education Council, Fort Wayne Animal Care and Control, NAACP, Metro Youth Sports, the Midwest Football League and USA Rugby.
Matthew A. Doss lives in Markle, Indiana with his wife, stepdaughter, and two dogs.
